2025 Year of the Snake

Here at Bo Lings, we want to wish you a Happy Chinese New Year!
Did you know Chinese New Year is also called the Lunar New Year? It occurs on different dates each year, according to the first new moon that appears between January 21 and February 20. This year's New Moon occurs on Jan. 29, hence today being the first day of Chinese New Year 2025. Chinese New Year lasts for 15 days, up until the first full moon of the lunar calendar--February 12 this year.
2025 is the Year of the Snake. The snake symbolizes good luck, rebirth, and regality. It is associated with wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation. So if you're looking to make some big changes in your life, this is the year to do it!
Chinese New Year is traditionally celebrated with a thorough house-cleaning just before New Year's Day, to rid the home of the previous year's bad luck and to usher in good luck for the coming year. Good luck and fortune begin on New Year's Day. No sweeping, washing, or taking out the trash should occur on this day, to avoid getting rid of the newly arrived wealth and good luck.
Chinese New Year is marked by large gatherings of family and friends. It is a time to share meals together, pay respects to familial elders, and deliver blessings for the new year. The holiday is responsible for the world's largest annual migration as hundreds of millions of people travel to their home towns in celebration. Over the next week, 9 billion trips are anticipated to be taken in China via trains, planes, and cars in celebration of the holiday!
We hope you will come dine with us in celebration of Chinese New Year! We are wishing you all many blessings of good fortune, health, and prosperity in the year ahead!
