A Tribute to To-Ping Tsui

Theresa’s father, To-Ping Tsui, was the patriarch of the Ng family restaurant and helped shape the Kansas City Chinese Restaurant scene. This courageous, hard-working father immigrated to New York with his wife and 4 children in 1972 from Taiwan via Hong Kong. Making his way to Kansas City in 1975, he opened the first family restaurant venture, which was truly a family affair--with all family members pitching in to help.
After several years, his daughter Theresa married Richard Ng and together they created the first Bo Lings, opened in 1981. To-Ping’s children appreciate the sacrifices he made to ensure a better future not only for them, but for future generations.
Cheers to To-Ping’s memory and the legacy he created. 10/8/1926 – 4/7/2020
