An Insider Glimpse into New Year's Traditions

Our team was fortunate to sit down last week with Jackie Nguyen, owner extraordinaire of Cafe Cà Phê, Kansas City's first Vietnamese coffee shop, for a discussion on multi-cultural Asian traditions surrounding the Lunar New Year. This discussion was part of One Kansas City Radio's "Change Makers - Kansas City" show with owner Theresa Ng, partner Nicole Ortiz along with daughter Rebecca Clark joining in on the conversation of family traditions in China, Malaysia and Vietnam during the most important holiday of the year. This holiday actually lasts two weeks and culminates with the Lantern Festival on February 15.
It was such a unique opportunity for these long time and new local Asian entrepreneurs to share in educating listeners with a personal glimpse into their traditions. Please sit back and enjoy listening to this fascinating discussion.
